Sensei Adam GarberMr. Garber began his Kokondo training in 1992 at Brandeis University with Sensei Dan Cohen.  In 1995,  he earned his Jukido shodan and became a member of the Yudanshakai.  Currently, Mr. Garber is a Jukido Nidan and a Shodan in Karate.  He is a certified instructor, having recently opened an adult Karate class in Norwood, MA at the South Shore Kokondo Academy.  He regularly attends National and International seminars on both coasts.  Additionally, Mr. Garber has taught and assisted in numerous self-defense seminars and demonstrations at schools, colleges and corporations across New England.  In 2001, he was the featured instructor for a special seminar at Sensei Shan Hua’s dojo in San Francisco.  In his Kokondo training, Mr. Garber especially enjoys combining Jukido's throwing and locking techniques with the straight-line power of Karate basics, and works to balance and blend both distinct Kokondo arts into his training and teaching.

Mr. Garber received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brandeis University.  He is currently finishing his Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from UMass Boston (May, 2002).  He has worked in the field of vocational and psychosocial rehabilitation counseling since 1995, specializing in working with clients in recovery for severe mental illness. Mr. Garber is also a musician and has played drums professionally for a number of years.  He has produced one CD and is beginning to plan a second.
