Mr.
Ierardi began his IKA training in Jukido at Syracuse University and
Cornell University in the spring of 1994 under Sensei Michael Oshinsky.
During school breaks and holidays, he also trained with Shihan
Arel in South Windsor, CT. Upon graduation from Syracuse in December
1996 with a BS in Information Management & Technology and a Minor in
Management, he moved back to Connecticut. There he studied Jukido with
Sensei Ward in Enfield and Sensei Betancourt in Tolland. He also began
his training in Kokondo Karate at Hombu with Sensei Dylag. After
receiving occasional training at Brandeis between 1996 and 1999, he
became a full-time BKA member in the summer of 1999 under Sensei Dan
Cohen. He received his Shodan in Jukido Jujitsu in 2000, and his Shodan
in Kokondo Karate in 2001.
Mr. Ierardi has attended many of the IKA's regional, national and
international seminars; first aid and cpr training; and is also N.R.A.
certified. He is an active
member of the Jukido and Karate Yudanshakai. Some of his favorite
activities in the dojo include Kobudo (traditional weapons) and multiple
attacker training. As an assistant instructor at Brandeis, Mr. Ierardi
is both an extremely demanding and exceptionally patient and clear
teacher with a great sense of humor.
While not in the dojo, Mr. Ierardi works in a professional-services
consultant role as a software implementer for a leading Boston area
software company. He also enjoys fly fishing, snowboarding, and mountain
biking.
