Miss Jean Pirina

Miss Jean Pirina holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Jukido Jujitsu and is also an active student of Kokondo Karate. She began her martial arts training in 1988 under Shihan Paul Arel in Avon, Simsbury, and South Windsor, Connecticut and received her black belt in 1995. She currently trains under Sensei Dan Cohen at the Brandeis Kokondo Academy, and has been an assistant instructor at dojos in CT and MA. Miss Pirina is a familiar face at national and international Kokondo events, having trained enthusiastically at almost every summer seminar on each coast. Her favorite Jukido techniques include te waza and kansetsu waza, with a strong preference for everything related to Jushin, including one of her favorite throws --morote seionage.

Miss Pirina is a first year law student and J.D. candidate at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA.  In 2000 she received her B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, and minor in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, OH. After law school she hopes to pursue a career in corporate, antitrust, or criminal law.
